Kristan Higgins is an auto-buy author for me. IMO she hit her ceiling in her third outing, Just One Of The Guys. Although I'm not crazy about the hero (love Malone in Catch of The Day more), this story is much more well-rounded. Chastity is an absolutely loveable heroine.
One of the factors that, to me, makes or breaks a romantic story for me is what I call 'the turn around'. It's a point where the hero and/or heroine overcomes whatever qualm he/she had and succumbs to his/her ever-so-strong feeling. If it's not for her abrupt and weak turn arounds I would rate almost all SEP's books 5 stars. I do believe it's the only weak point in her writing.
What I'm trying to say is that Just One of the Guys has one of the most satisfying, believable turn arounds in romance. Just read this book to the very end, and tell me you don't have a little tear in your eyes.
